In addition to serving as Chapter Archivist, Mr. James R. Morgan III serves as Worshipful Grand Historian & Archivist of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand lodge of the District of Columbia. The first African American masonic lodge in Washington was established in 1825, with the Prince Hall Grand Lodge being established in 1848. Founding members also established the Columbian Harmony Cemetery as a burial ground for their use and thanks to the leadership of Grand Master Quincy Gant and the efforts of Mr. Morgan, the Prince Hall masonic order of DC is taking a stand for the Columbian Harmony Cemetery.
