African American Special Interest Group (AASIG) goes virtual


Prior to COVID-19, the AASIG met weekly at the Washington DC Family History Center on Monday mornings at 9:30 AM.


The AASIG has transitioned to meeting every other Monday from 10:00AM - 12 Noon via Zoom to reach out virtually to those interested in African American research.

TAKE an AFRICAN AMERICAN ANCESTRAL JOURNEY with the AASIG:

•Work with other researchers

•Give/receive support and advice

•Learn different research tools and strategies

•Share family stories and ancestral DNA discoveries

•Discuss the rewards/difficulties associated with finding enslaved ancestors, free persons of color and former slave owners

•Chat about other historical and/or genealogical groups or events
