Since the summer of 2022 Scott Wilds and I have been working with Reuters, the world’s largest multimedia news provider, on this important project that tells the story of “Slavery’s Descendants.” Scott and I vetted the work of a team of investigative reporters to document the extent to which the ancestors of modern day policymakers—across the political spectrum—were direct beneficiaries of American Slavery.
