The Enslaved People of Red Hill

In the Summer of 2021 I had the pleasure of attending a burial ground ceremony at the Patrick Henry plantation, Red Hill, to recognize and honor the many enslaved people who lived, worked, and died there. Several of those people are my ancestors and it was an overwhelming experience to walk the land and feel their presence.

As a documented descendent, I and several others were interviewed and the result used in a video that is now part of the Patrick Henry Foundation visitors center.

I hope I made my ancestors proud

This is wonderful. This is the kind of information that gives knowledge to all members with varieties of subject matters and a variety of locations. When new articles are put on the website, communication to ALL members should sent out. The website, itself, needs more publicity.
